KATHMANDU: Nepalis currently working in Malaysia have organised a three-day football tournament to celebrate their Eid al-Fitr vacation.

According to a statement issued by the Embassy of Nepal in Kuala Lumpur, as many as 26 teams comprising Malaysia-based Nepali migrant workers are taking part in the tournament that began today.

Nepal's Ambassador to Malaysia Niranjan Man Singh Basnyat inaugurated the event today at the Panasonic National Sports Centre in Shah Alam of Selangor.

The Himalayan Football Club is organising the event.
