New constitution by mid-August: Minister Acharya

BIRATNAGAR: Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Mahesh Acharya said that a new constitution would be issued by mid-August as the constitution drafting process was intensified.

Talking to the mediapersons in Biratnagar Airport today, Minister Acharya said that the constitution would be promulgated by the mid-August as parties were holding serious discussions to include public feedbacks in the draft for the same.

He further informed that they were making maximum efforts to delineate the border of provinces and four-party leaders including Prime Minister were trying for the same.

Forms of governance would be parliamentary system as per the consensus made in 16-point pact by the four major parties, he added.

Minister Acharya further informed that parties were discussing on the issue of directly elected head of the executive as maximum feedbacks were received for that.
