Number of seasonal patients increasing at Damauli Hospital

The number of seasonal patients has significantly increased at Damauli Hospital, Tanahun, in the last few days.

According to the hospital administration, the number of patients compared to the past years has increased almost two-fold. Dr Srijana Sharma at the hospital said the patients suffering from typhoid, fever and the common cold, among other seasonal diseases, were visiting the hospital.

Dr Sharma added that some 100 patients reached the hospital on normal days. The hospital stated that most of the patients visiting the hospital were from Byas Municipality, Myagde and Rishing Rural Municipality.

Doctors said the patients were advised to drink water only after properly boiling it, maintain person hygiene, not to eat leftovers and junk food, drink maximum liquid and use mask while going out of the house. They said patients had increased even in the emergency ward. Seasonal patients have also reached private health facilities to receive treatment. Private health facilities referred the patients in critical condition to Pokhara for further treatment.

With the beginning of monsoon, the number of patients suffering from viral fever, common cold, and other diseases increases every year in Tanahun.
