Oli, Sitaula submit election expenditure details

BANIYANI, JHAPA: The Jhapa District Election Office has said that a total of 30 candidates, who contested the provincial and parliamentary elections from the district, have submitted the details of their election expenditure.

Of the total 141 candidates, 57 had contested in the House of Representatives election and 84 had contested in the Provincial Assemblies election.

As per the Election Commission rule, the election candidate is required to submit details of his or her election expenditure within 35 days of the date of poll results. The candidates have 16 more days remained to approach the deadline.

Of the candidates, CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula, and CPN Maoist Centre leader Surendra Kumar Karki have already submitted their election expenditure details.

As per the information, the expenditure by Oli is put at Rs 2.41 million, while Sitaula spent Rs 2.26 million. Similarly, Karki’s poll expenditure stands at Rs 2.41 million whereas NC leader Bishwo Prakash Sharma spent Rs 2.16 million.
