BHOJPUR: A man died after a muzzleloader gun burst in Pakhribas Municipality-8, of Dhankuta district, on Monday evening.

Area Police Office (APO), Pakhribas identified the deceased as Bhim Kumar Rai (35), son of local resident Jit Bahadur Rai.

According to the APO, Rai died after the gun he was carrying exploded in Chuhadekhola on Monday.

A joint team of security personnel deployed from District Police Office, Dhankuta and the APO reached the incident site immediately and went through legal formalities necessary to send the body of the deceased to District Hospital, Dhankuta for postmortem.

Meanwhile, investigation into the incident is underway, informed police.
