One foreign national dead, eight hurt as jeep plunges 100m in Udayapur

OKHALDHUNGA: A tourist was killed and eight Nepalis were injured in a jeep accident at Ghurmi in Udayapur district today.

The nationality of the tourist is yet to be acertained, according to Ghurmi Traffic Police In-charge, Ram Kumar Shah.

Two of the injured are in critical condition and preparations are being made to send them to Kathmandu for further treatment, shared In-charge Shah.

The incident took place when the jeep (Na 2 Ja 7969) travelling to Okhaldhunga from Kathmandu fell some 100 metres below the road near Ghurmi Bazaar at Katari Municipality-14 in the district, according to the District Police Office, Udayapur.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
