BIRGUNJ: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority arrested Parsa District Education Officer and an Engineer red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 70,000 from a service seeker in Parsa on Thursday.

They were held while taking a kickback from the principal of Nepal Rastriya Primary School in Pakahamainpur in Parsa District.

The CIAA team deployed from Kathmandu had arrested DEO Kedar Tiwari and Nawal Kishor Dev and seized Rs 50,000 and 20,000 respectively from their possession.

The anti-graft body has claimed that the duo had demanded commission from their client in return of disbursement of 19, 50,000 for the completion of a school building in the district.

Meanwhile, CIAA team has seized all the documents and has taken both the suspects to Kathmandu for further investigation.
