Party should stand for democratic system: NC vice president Nidhi

KAILALI: Nepali Congress vice-president Bimalendra Nidhi has said the time has come for the Nepali Congress to stand firm for protection of the democratic system.

Addressing a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union Kailali in Dhangadhi today, he underscored the need for the party to stand for the federal rule, inclusive system and the successful implementation of the constitution in the present condition.

The vice-president of the main opposition party alleged that the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has not been able to perform as per the people's aspirations although it commands majority in the federal parliament, and provincial and local levels through the three tier elections.

“The federal government has not given any rights to the provincial governments nor have the latter come forward actively to claim their rights,” he said.

He also accused the government of not showing any concern for the successful implementation of the federal, inclusive and local structure and giving them full shape.
