KATHMANDU: A pedestrian died after he was hit by a motorcycle in Kohalpur Municipality-6 of Banke district on Thursday night, police said.

Police have identified the deceased as Sarpe Pariyar (58) of Butwal in Rupandehi district, currently residing in the locality.

According to police, Pariyar was walking along the road in Tingahurwa when he was hit by the motorcycle (Ba 74 Pa 4357) at 8:15 pm yesterday, critically injuring him.

Pariyar breathed his last at 8:30 pm the same night during the course of treatment at Medical College, Kohalpur, informed the police.

Meanwhile, Kohalpur-based Area Police Office has impounded the two-wheeler and detained its rider for further investigation, said police.
