DHADING: At least three persons died in a bus accident in Jeevanpur of Dhading on Monday evening.

The bus (Ba 2 Kha 2321) had left Godawari of Lalitpur for Dhading carrying pilgrims visiting the holy site, according to police.

A month-long festival is ongoing in Godawari for last three weeks.

Police said that around 35 persons have sustained injuries in the accident at around 7 pm in Chiurimod, Jeevanpur-5.

The deceased have been identified as Tratap Timilsina (21), Thuli Kanchhi Tamang (55) and Pramila Dhungana (41) from the Jeevanpur VDC.

Casualties are likely to increase.

The injured are being ferried to the Capital for treatment.

While rescue operation is underway, an additional team of police has been sent to the incident site, according to ASI Bijay Adhikari of Jeevanpur Police Post.

Around 100 locals of Jeevanpur had left the village for Godawari by reserving two buses this morning.
