KATHMANDU: A person died after a truck hit the motorbike he was riding on pillion head on, in Bardibas-5 of Mahottari district on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Surya Bahadur Karki (50) from Lalbandi of Sarlahi.

The biker, Ram Kumar Kaki (35) from Khayarmara of Sarlahi, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at the Janasewa Hospital, Bardibas.

The truck (Na 3 Kha 9572) heading towards Sindhuli from Bardibas had hit the two-wheeler (Na 18 Pa 7496) head on at around 7:45 pm yesterday.

Meanwhile, the truck driver is on the run and police have launched a manhunt to nab him.

Further investigation is underway.
