PM Deuba expands Cabinet, inducts 8 Ministers from RPP

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday inducted four Ministers and four State Ministers from Rastriya Prajatantra Party in his Cabinet.

RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa has been appointed as Deputy Prime Minister while leaders Jayant Chand, Dilanath Giri and Bikram Thapa have been appointed Ministers without portfolio in PM Deuba-led government.

Similarly, RPP Chief Whip Kunti Kumari Shahi, Bhaskar Bhadra, Sushil Shrestha and Kanta Bhattrai have been appointed as State Ministers today.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed Ministers would be sworn-in tomorrow.

Earlier, CPN-Maoist Centre and CPN-UML and Naya Shakti Party Nepal had forged electoral alliance for the upcoming provincial and parliamentary elections and announced to merge all leftist parties to form a single communist party in Nepal.

Such move have irked the ruling Nepali Congress and PM Deuba have been internally pressurised to dismiss the CPN Maoists Ministers from the Cabinet.

After such incident, RPP have decided to support and join Deuba-led government.
