China visit will be successful, hopes PM

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that his week-long visit to China would further strengthen the bilateral relationship between two neighbours.

PM Dahal stated so after a meeting with his predecessors and other experts today at his residence in Baluwatar to collect their opinions about the agendas of the visit.

Former prime ministers including Sher Bahadur Deuba, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal, former foreign affairs ministers Ram Sharan Mahat and Ramesh Nath Pandey, experts Tanka Karki, Rajeshwor Acharya, Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, Chandra Dhakal, Hari Bhakta Sharma among others were present in the meeting.

The attendees advised PM Dahal to win the confidence and enhance goodwill that has waned at present.

PM Dahal thanked all for their valuable suggestions and assured them to make the visit a success, the PM's Secretariat informed.

The PM will leave for China today to attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2017 in Hainan province.

PM Dahal is scheduled to address the Conference being held with the theme 'Globalisation and Free Trade: The Asian Perspective' on March 23-26.
