Poll dates in consent of Madhes-based parties, says PM

CHITWAN: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has informed that the dates for the local elections would be announced after the government reached a consensus with the Madhes-based parties.

Speaking to the media at a press meet organised by the Press Centre Chitwan at the Bharatpur Airport, PM Dahal said the elections would be held in April/May; but the dates would be announced in consultation with all the parties.

He claimed that asking the Election Commission to prepare for election was equivalent to announcing the election dates.

PM Dahal also informed that he would continue to try to form an alliance with the disputed parties and move on to hold the elections.

Meanwhile, addressing a programme organised by the CPN Maoist Centre in Bharatpur, Dahal warned that the country would fall into a chaos if the Constitution implementation was not completed on time.

"It is the product of our party's hard work that the country has seen the revolution and the responsibility is on our shoulders to carry it forward," Dahal exclaimed.
