Power supply sought

Bhairahawa, July 29

A delegation of Siddhartha Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Bhairahawa today arrived at Nepal Electricity Authority’s Bhairahawa distribution centre demanding uninterrupted supply of power to industries.

The delegation informed the NEA that industries were facing problems of irregular power supply and low voltage. They complained they were having a hard time operating industries as NEA had been cutting off power in different industries and Lumbini Industrial corridor, without prior information. They added power outages had ruined raw materials and equipment in industries. SCCI Press Coordinator Surendra Upadhaya said industries might have to close down if this situation persisted.

SCCI chair Kul Prasad Neupane said industries ought to be run without obstruction as they form backbone of national economy.
