Prez discusses situation with Deuba, Dahal

Kathmandu, July 24

President Bidhya Bhandari today held separate meetings with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal .

These meetings took place before the Parliament began debate on the no-trust motion against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.

According to NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi the President told Deuba that after receiving a letter from the Parliament, she would take action as per the constitutional provision and past practices without complicating the process of formation of a new government.

Nidhi said Deuba also told the president that the no-trust motion moved against the prime minister would pass in the Parliament and the government would also be formed from the Parliament.

Emerging from the meeting with the president, Dahal said that the president was concerned about finding an easy way out of the current political problems through political understanding.

Dahal said the president wanted to see parties united in order to implement the constitution and hold elections.

A press release issued by Dahal’s Secretariat, said that the president consulted him about current politics, including the issue of no-trust motion. “The president showed concern about the no trust motion and hoped that the issue would be resolved easily,” states the release.

According to the release, Dahal also told the president that he was hopeful about finding an easy way out of the current political situation, including the no-trust motion.
