Private hospitals in Dolakha operating below standards

DOLAKHA: Private hospitals in Dolakha district are recently found to be operating short of the stipulated standards.

All the private hospitals in the district are currently operational but are not complying with the government set codes and standards for physical infrastructure, human resources, and technology.

The district has four private hospitals — two in district headquarters Charikot, and one each in Dolakha Bazaar and Baiteswor Rural Muncipality — some polyclinics, dental hospitals, and medical centres in operation. However, all these health facilities are operating below the set standards, as shared by various stakeholders themselves.

These hospitals have agreed to follow all the government standards and directives in paper, however, they have yet to put them into practice.

These medical facilities are putting the locals of Dolakha districts at high risk by not meeting the standards in delivering health facilities.
