Property destroyed in three separate fire incidents in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ: Property worth around Rs 2 million were destroyed in three separate incidents of fire in Saptari district on Saturday.

A fire at the hardware store belonging to local Dinanath Rauniyar at Phattepur of Saptakoshi Municipality-1 yesterday gutted goods and property worth around Rs 1.5 million housed inside the store, according to Area Police Office, Kanchanpur.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, said police.

Police with the help of locals and fire engine from Rajbiraj douse the fire.

Similarly, a fire that started with an electric short-circuit gutted an one storey house belonging to Ram Prit Yadav of Lalpatti in Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality-4 and destroyed property worth around Rs 200,000, informed District Police Office, Saptari.

Likewise, property worth around Rs 25,000 were burned to cinders after the fire gutted two houses belonging to Kamal Mukhiya and Chhedi Mukhiya in Rupani Rural Municipality-3 yesterday, informed District Administration Office, Saptari.

Police with the help of locals brought the fire under control.

Meanwhile, further investigations into the cases are undergoing, said police.
