Property gutted in Pokhara scrap warehouse fire

POKHARA: Property worth around Rs 1.2 million were destroyed in a fire that burnt down a scrap warehouse in Pokhara Metropolitan City-5 of Kaski district on Tuesday night.

According to police, the fire that started at 9:00 pm yesterday, gutted Manish Scrap operated by Santosh Kumar and Sanjay Prasad Jaiswal at Parsyang.

Police with the help of Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, locals, and fire engines doused the fire after one and half hours of effort.

The immediate control of fire prevented it from spreading to the neighbourhood or causing any casualties, according to Rabindra Man Gurung, Spokesperson of District Police Office, Kaski.

In the span of one month, two incidents of fire in Pokhara have resulted in a huge loss of property.
