Property worth millions destroyed in Dadeldhura fire

The massive inferno which threatened to ravage the entire settlement has been taken under control after two hours, it has been learned.

DADELDHURA: Property worth millions of rupees was reduced to rubble when a fire destroyed two shops and two houses in Baghkhor, the district headquarters of Dadeldhura, on Friday.

The fire that erupted from the cooking gas leakage, completely destroyed Kailpal cotton factory, Manisha grocery shop and two houses this morning, police said.

Locals and security personnel are battling to extinguish the fire as the only fire engine of the district was taken to Dhangadhi for maintenance.

Fire engines called from Baitadi and Doti have not reached the incident site yet, police said.

It has been learned that more than a dozen security personnel including locals were injured while trying to take the fire under control.

They are receiving treatment at the Dadeldhura Sub-Regional Hospital, police informed.
