Protests ensue in Jumla, police baton charge in hospital premises

The protests have taken a serious form as dozens of people have become injured. Police baton charged the protesters within the hospital premises, and fired 12 rounds of tear gas shells within 10 minutes to contain the mob.

Thirty to forty students and nurses have been injured, according to sources. Some of the students have also become unconscious. The emergency ward at KAHS is completely occupied.

According to Jumla District Police Office, a police personnel, whose identity is not disclosed, has been injured in the incident and is currently undergoing treatment at KAHS.
