Province 2 budget presented

Janakpurdham, April 24

Province 2 government today presented a budget of 1.2 billion in the Provincial Assembly.

Minister for Financial Affairs and Planning Bijaya Kumar Yadav presented the budget today.

The budget mainly focuses on agriculture, irrigation, tourism, education, health and drinking water for development and prosperity of the province. The government will offer Rs ten lakh to each PA member for development of their constituency.

Eighty lakh was allocated to operate ‘Save Daughter Educate Daughter’ campaign in all the districts. One-and-a-half crore was allocated for fresh province healthy people along with the Chief Minister Sanitation campaign in the province. Budget was also allocated for long term development planning after creating the province’s profile.

Four crore and eighty lakh rupees was allocated for expansion and promotion of roads to connect two and more local levels. Allocation has also been made for conservation and promotion of the historical sites.

The government has also given priority to conservation and development of temples, madarsa and gumba, among others.

Budget was also allocated for  sanitation and publicity of Chhinamasta, Kankalini, Dinabhadri, Theliya Daha temples of Saptari; Sahales, Kamal Daha, Mahadev Matha of  Siraha; Janakpurdham, Dhanushadham of Dhanusha,  Poudelsthan, Jaleshwornath and Raujamajar of Mahottari; Raj Devi temple of Rautahat; Gadhimai and Simraunagadh of Bara; the historical Gadahawamai of Parsa, among others. The government has also adopted the policy of zero tolerance for corruption.
