Province 3 assembly postponed indefinitely

HETAUDA: The State Assembly Secretariat of Province 3 has issued a circular indefinitely postponing a meeting slated for today amid a row between main opposition Nepali Congress and ruling party Nepal Communist Party (NCP) on Medical Education Bill.

However, Secretary at the assembly secretariat, Mohan Niraula remarked that the meeting was deferred because of special reasons as per the speaker’s direction.

On the other hand, NC lawmakers are adamant on not letting the provincial assembly proceed as per schedule unless their demands are met.

A day ago, NC lawmakers had obstructed the assembly proceedings citing NCP (NCP)’s efforts to endorse contradictory ordinance and bill of medical education, high taxes and rising prices, and appointment of the speaker and deputy speaker from the same party (NCP) among others.
