Provincial capital will remain the same, says CM Poudel

Hetauda, February 18

Province 3 Chief Minister Dormani Poudel today said that the provisional capital of the province would not change.

Speaking at a function organised on the occasion of the second municipal meeting of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City today, Chief Minister Poudel clarified that the capital of Province 3 would remain the same in future as it was the most feasible place. He argued that Kathmandu Valley should not be declared the capital due to the overpopulation there.

He claimed that he was committed to develop Province 3 as a model province by properly utilising the available resources. However, he said they were facing a hard time carrying out their work efficiently due to shortage of human resources at most of the ministries in the province despite the provincial government.

“The everyday business of the ministries has been hit hard as above 90 per cent civil servants are yet to report to their offices,” said Chief Minister Poudel. He further said though there were lots of challenges in serving as the chief minister at the moment, he was committed to overcome such hurdles and turn them into opportunities.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Poudel today shifted to his official residence one-and-a-half weeks after he was appointed as the Chief Minister. The quarter of the Office of Division Cooperative was prepared for the CM’s residence.
