PYUTHAN: Diarrhoea that has gone rampant in Upallo Sari of Swargadwari Municipality-5 in the district since last night and left 18 locals ill so far is yet to be contained.

The number of patients was increasing, said local resident Gir Bahadur Gharti.

All the patients were receiving treatment at various health posts in Bhingri and Sari, said District Public Health Inspector at Primary Health Centre, Bhingri Chuda Mani Pokharel. The condition of the patients is normal, he added.

Meanwhile, a team of a doctor and health workers led DPHO officer Siddhi Mani Subedi reached the affected area. Consumption of contaminated food and water is said to be the cause of the disease.
