KATHMANDU: Radha Paudel's Madan Puraskar winning book Khalanga ma Hamala, which included her experience in Jumla and the 2002 Maoist attack in the district headquarters Khalanga, has now been published in English.

The official English edition, titled JUMLA - A Nurse's Story, has a new chapter in which the author tells her experience during the 2015 Nepal earthquakes and her observation of Khalanga 13 years later.

Paudel won the prestigious Madan Puraskar in 2014 for the original Nepali version, which was released published by Nepalaya in May 2013.

“I am indebted to all the readers for accepting my book with such love and appreciation,” Paudel said, “With this English edition, I hope the story of Karnali will reach more readers beyond the Nepali readership.”

The book was formally released in Jumla by the presenting a copy the Jumla based Karnali Community Resource Library.
