Rautahat lawmakers, including ex-PM Nepal, call for political solution to existing crisis

RAUTAHAT: Four lawmakers representing Rautahat district, including former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, appealed to all stakeholders to find a solution to existing political crisis politically through talks.

Issuing a joint statement from the Capital, Constituent Assembly members Nepal, Ram Kumar Bhattarai, Banshidhar Mishra and Lalbabu Yadav urged the government and protesting parties to sit for talks at the earliest.

Expressing their concerns over recent clashes in Gaur of Rautahat and Tikapur of Kailali, the lawmakers also called all not to jeopardise social harmony existing among different communities and not to make any statement so as to incite violence.

The lawmakers issued the statement after a protester died in a clash with police in Rautahat district headquarters, Gaur, on Tuesday.
