Recalled envoy Upadhyay to return home on Sunday

KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Nepal to India, Deep Kumar Upadhyay, who was recalled by the government last week, is returning home tomorrow.

The government on May 9 had sent a letter to Updhyay calling him back, expressing dissatisfaction over his role.

The government had asked him to return within 15 days from the day of receiving the letter.

Upadhay will arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 12 noon tomorrow on a Nepal Airlines flight, an official at the Nepali Congress central office stated.

He was appointed the Ambassador to India by the erstwhile government headed by Sushil Koirala.

Upadhay is the former Nepali Congress central member and was also a minister.
