Rise in crime worries CM Gurung

Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Prithvi Subba Gurung has expressed concerns about increasing cases of crime across the country of late and said the security agencies should take their responsibility seriously.

Speaking at the conclusion of an interaction here today, the chief minister said security agencies should equip their manpower with modern technology and make effective strategies to check rising cases of violence, murder and rape in the country.

“We are short of resources and technology, otherwise our security agencies are no less efficient than the high-tech security agencies of western countries,” said the CM, adding that the roles of all security agencies was important to maintain peace and security in the province.

“Earlier, I visited China, and during my visit, I urged the entrepreneurs there to invest in our province because Gandaki is a peaceful province,” said Gurung.

On the occasion, chief district officers of all 11 districts of the province and chiefs of national investigation department had presented papers.
