RJP-N candidate clinch ward chair of Bahadaramai Municipality-1

BIRJUNG: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal candidate for the mayoral post of Birgunj Metropolitan City Rajesh Man Singh is leading the vote counting, Election Office said.

As per the latest results, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal has won in 6 local units, Nepali Congress, UML, CPN-Maoist Centre has clinched two victories each followed by Nepal Janata Dal and RJPN have bagged one ward chairman each.

Meanwhile, the vote counting of Birjung Metropolitan is underway.

RJPN mayoral candidate Rajesh Man Singh is leading with 1,683 votes to his closest rival of Nepali Congress Ajaya Kumar Dribedi with 1,475 votes.

In deputy mayor of the Metropolis, RJPN candidate Rambha Mishra and NC candidate Shanti Karki both have garnered 1,651 votes each.

Meanwhile, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal candidate Bijaya Kumar Sarawogi has received 790 votes, while, Pinkya Yadav for deputy mayoral has garnered 880 votes.

Likewise, CPN-Maoist Centre mayoral candidate Rahabar Ansari has mustered 626 votes. UML candidate Basuridin Ansari is following with 557 votes in the race for the Metropolitan chief.

Out of 31 wards in the Metropolis, the vote counting is underway in 7 wards, according to the Election Office.

The results of the third phase local levels elections in province number 2 would be announced within a week, according to the EC spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma.
