Schoolkids receive educational material

Nepali students studying in different colleges of Germany have offered support to students of a rural school in Langtang valley of Rasuwa district.

According to Ngima Lama Sherpa, founder of Himalayan Child Foundation, education material was distributed to over 100 students studying in Dukcheswory Primary School at Naukunda Rural Municipality-5 amidst a function organised on the school premises today.

“Students received notebooks, bags and pencils among other things,” he informed. Germany-based Nepali students offered education material to motivate children to continue their education,” he said, adding that the HCF will continue offering support to the needy kids in rural areas.

A team of college students led by Dawa Jangbu Sherpa organised a fund raising event at Rambagh Palace Indian Restaurant in Konstanz, Germany, to collect fund. The fund collected during the event was used to buy education material, according to Sherpa.

School management committee chair Bobar Moktan appreciated the foundation’s efforts to support the needy children in the village. “Such incentives motivate children to perform better in the classrooms,” he said.

Barbara Jermann, a social worker from Switzerland, has also been providing scholarship to four students for their education in the same school, principal of the school Bharat Tamang said.
