BIRATNAGAR: Senior Superintendent of Police Dibesh Lohani, who was sent to judicial custody on Wednesday in the high-profile gold smuggling case, allegedly assaulted a cameraman in the district court of Morang.

Cameraman Dhruv Bhattarai and photojournalist Sunam Timalsina were filming videos and clicking photos when Bhattarai was allegedly kicked by Lohani while the accused were leaving the court.

Morang chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists and FNJ’s THT chapter have condemned the incident and sought action against the guilty and security guarantee for journalists.
