Seti River flood causes under-construction bridge to sag

DAMAULI: The monsoon flood in Seti River has caused the deck of an under-construction motorable bridge, which links Bandipur with Rishing Rural Municipality in Tanahun district, to sag.

According to Chief of Tanahun Road Division Office, Bhanu Joshi, the bridge over Seti River at Sudhe has sagged after one of the supporting pillars moved deeper into the earth by 15 centimetres due to the increasing river current.

Sixty per cent of the bridge construction work, estimated at Rs 90 million, has been completed, as informed by the division office.

It has been stated that the bridge construction work, which should have been completed in fiscal year 2074/75, has come to a halt due to the flooding. It has been reported that the flood has also separated the bridge deck.
