Deuba forms panels to hold NTD, NWA conventions

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deubua on Monday formed two panels to help the party's sister organisations, the Nepal Tarun Dal and the Nepal Women Association, hold their general conventions on time.

He formed a seven-member NTD General Convention Central Directive Committee headed by the party's Central Working Committee member Bal Krishna Khand.

CWC members Uma Kanta Chaudhary, Surendra Raj Pande, Shankar Bhandari, Ram Krishna Yadav, Hridaya Ram Thani and Sarita Prasain are members of the panel, party's central office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel informed in a statement.

Likewise, Deba formed a five-member NWA General Convention Central Directive Committee headed by the party's Central Working Committee member NP Saud.

CWC Nanindra Raj Joshi, Chandra Bhandari, Kamala Panta and Pradeep Paudel are members of the panel formed for the NWA convention.

The decision was made in accordance to article 24(6) of the party statute, according to the statement.

Another sister organisation of the party, Nepal Students Union, recently concluded its convention after nine long years.

The NTD and the NWA have also not held their conventions for many years.
