Six persons including Indian National held with tiger skin and Pangolin scales

 KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested six persons, including an Indian National on charge of smuggling animal hide and skin, from various locations in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Police identified the suspects as 47-year-old Phuchung Bhutia of Mirik Municipality-3 in Darjeeling of India, 38-year-old Juppa Lendup Bhote of Sankhuwasabha district, 39-year-old Dibas Rai of Khotang district, 26-year-old Sajan Basnet of Kavre district, 28-year-old Avimanyu Khatri of Ramechapp district and 19-year-old Bharat Sapkota of Myagdi district.

They were held from Chabahil of KMC-7 along with a tiger skin and 44 kg of Pangolin scales from Kalanki of KMC-14 on Tuesday. Two pulsar motorcycles were also seized from them, according to police.

Meanwhile, the arrestees have been sent to the Kathmandu District Forest Office for further investigation and action.
