Speaker Gharti off to attend SRICE in China

KATHMANDU: Speaker Onsari Gharti on Sunday night left for Gansu, the northwestern province of the People’s Republic of China, to participate in the Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Culture Expo (SRICE).

A team of eight Nepali representatives led by the Speaker will participate in the SRICE that will be held in Dunhuang from September 20 to 21.

The Speaker is  scheduled to visit Yunnan, the southwestern province of China, on September 22 and 23 following the conclusion of expo, co-spokesperson of Parliament Secretariat Sudarshan Kuinkel informed.

Gharti has been accompanied by her husband and CPN-Maoist leader Barshaman Pun and the Parliament's  Secretary General Manohar Prasad  Bhattarai among others.

The Nepali delegation team has been scheduled to return on September 24.

The expo would be held with the goal to advocate absorbing the best from other civilisations, and to promote mutual understanding among residents.
