Speaker urges Chinese traders to invest in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar, who is on a six-day visit to China, has urged Chinese investors and traders to invest in Nepal.

During a meeting held with the Yunnan Province Governor Chen Hao, Speaker Magar urged local investors and traders, who are said to have concentration on energy sector, to invest in Nepal.

The Speaker said that cooperation between Nepal and China would be fostered not only by relationship between the governments and the Parliaments of two countries, but also by ties between the people.

During the meeting, Governor Hao expressed his interest to invest in energy and tourism sector of Nepal. Hao also praised diplomatic and bilateral relationship between the two countries including Yunnan province.

Yunnan Secretary General Li Wifei, former Finance Minister of Nepal and the Speaker's spouse Barshaman Pun and Secretary General of the Parliament Secretariat Manohar Prasad Bhattarai among others also attended the meeting.
