Sunsari man succumbs to elephant attack injuries

INARUWA: A person injured in an attack from wild elephant a month ago in Sunsari district succumbed to injuries on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Lalo Mandal (50) of western Kushaha-4 in the district, according to the District Police Office, based in Sundari.

Mandal was attacked by an elephant straying into the human settlement from Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve on February 16. He was working in his field when the wild tusker attacked.

Mandal had sustained serious injuries and was being treated at home after being discharged from the hospital, police said.
