DAMAULI: A woman committed suicide by immolating herself in a burning haystack in Tanahun district on Wednesday night.

Laxmi Sapkota (65) was the local of Tar, Shukla Gandaki Municipality-3, had made the fire in the haystack and jumped into it, said the District Police Office.

The cause of the suicide is yet to be ascertained.

According to police, the body had been sent for postmortem at the Damauli Hospital for postmortem. The body has been handed over to the family following the autopsy.
