Three-day workshop on utilisation of geo-information in Nepal reconstruction

KATHMANDU: A three day-seminar is being held in Kathmandu from Wednesday, on the reconstruction of Nepal after the devastating April 25 earthquake.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa inaugurated the seminar at Radisson Hotel in Kathmandu.

In the seminar with the theme - Role of Land Professionals and Spatial Data Infrastructure in Disaster Risk Reduction in the context of Post 2015 Nepal Earthquake, DPM Thapa stressed the importance of discussion, policy making, learning and sharing of opinion and experience in minimising the risks.

The programmes’s inauguration session chairperson Buddhi Narayan Shrestha, who is also Nepal Institution of Chartered Surveyers (NICS) president, believed the seminar would be useful  in the reconstruction of the quake-affected areas.
