Three injured in Rupandehi bike-tractor collision

KATHMANDU: As many as three persons were injured after a motorcycle collided with a tractor in Sainamaina Municipality-8 of Rupandehi district on Thursday evening, police said.

The injured have been identified as the motorcyclist Himal Raskoti (23), a local resident, pillion rider Teju Thapa (21) of Birgha in Syangja district, and pedestrian Kamal Thapa (24) of Kanchan Rural Municipality-1 of the district.

According to police, the incident occurred when the motorcycle (Lu 12 Pa 2437)  and the hand tractor (Lu 2 Ta 2408) collided head-on in Bansgadhi at 7:15 pm yesterday, injuring motorcycle riders and the pedestrian.

The injured trio were rushed to the Butwal-based Lumbini Zonal Hospital where they are undergoing treatment, informed police.

According to the Rupandehi District Police Office, the condition of two motorcycle riders is serious.

Meanwhile, local police have taken control of both the vehicles and detained the driver of the hand tractor, said police.
