MAHOTTARI: An unidentified group set three parked buses ablaze at Bardibas of Mahottari on Thursday.

Among them, two of the buses, one (Na 5 Kha 4994) parked on the Janakpur-Jaleswar-Kathmandu route and another on test were completely damaged. While the third bus (Na 5 Kha 2694) parked in the Gaushala-Samsi-Kathmandu route was partially damaged, according to police inspector Chandeswar Yadav.

They had been parked at Bardibas municipality-1 since the past five days.

The buses were owned by Mukesh Chaudhary, a resident of Aurahi VDC in Mahottari.

Chaudhary was sleeping at his rented room when the incident took place. Soon after being informed by Chaudhary, police and locals worked together to put out the fire.

A search has been initiated to find those behind the incident, police said.
