Three UDMF leaders arrested for obstructing Biratnagar road
BIRATNAGAR: Police arrested three leaders of the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) from Shani Mandir Chok in Biratnagar, Morang on Wednesday for obstructing the road.
The arrestees include Raj Kumar Yadav, Morang district chairman of the Federal Socialist Party-Nepal and district member Kanhaiyalal Sah and Mohammad Kadir, chairman of the Tarai Madhes Democratic Party.
They have been taken to the custody of District Police Office and action would be initiated against them after the District Security Committee meeting decided on the matter, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Pramod Kumar Kharel.
Meanwhile, the markets in Biratnagar remained open partially, notwithstanding the bandh enforced by the UDMF while the vehicles plied uninterrupted.
