Time card system in BP Highway road section

Sindhulimadhi, June 16

The local administration in Sindhuli has started a time card system aiming to curb road accidents along BP Highway road section from yesterday.

The card system was implemented on the 95 km road section from Bhiman to Dumja along the highway.

SP of District Police Office Sindhuli, Umashankar Panjiyar said that vehicles plying that road would have to strictly follow the system and reach their destination within the time frame.

SP Panjiyar said that action would be taken against vehicles if they waited for passengers for a long time, and reached their destinations late.

A separate time card has been allocated for heavy and small vehicles. Buses, Mahindra Boleros, vehicles used to transport materials, and private vehicles, among others, have to use cards and follow the rules along the road section.

Police said implementation of the card system would be monitored by Area Police Office Bhiman, District Traffic Police Office Khaniyakharka Police Post, Area Police Office Khurkot, Jhara Police Post, and Dumja Police Post.

Incidents of road accidents have increased along the road section, with dozens of accidents happening daily, thanks to vehicles carrying more than their capacity from different parts of the country, to Kathmandu.

SP of Central Regional Traffic Police Office Ishwori Chapagain launched the time card system and distributed the cards to drivers yesterday.
