Tourist arrival picking up in Langtang

DHUNCHE: The number of tourists visiting the third most popular tourist destination in the country, Langtang-Gosaikunda hinterland, is increasing as the tourism industry gears up for a promising future after last year’s earthquake.

Tourist arrival from mid-July to mid-December was counted at 3,419, according to a data of the Langtang National Park.

Of the total number of tourists visiting in the period, 41came from SAARC member states and 3,378 from other countries, said Chief Conservation Officer, Hari Bhadra Acharya.

The government collected around Rs 10 million in entrance fee from the visiting tourists.

The number of tourists visiting the region is gaining momentum following the destructive earthquake which struck on April 25, 2015.
