Close shave for 7 Chitwan passengers after Trishuli truck plunge

CHITWAN: A truck plunged into the Trishuli River along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section of Chitwan district on Saturday. However, all seven of the passengers have been rescued.

According to SP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar of the Chitwan District Police Office, seven including two women, two men and three children have been rescued.

The ill-fated truck (Na 3 Kha 4556) was ferrying sand from Muglin to Narayangadh when the accident occurred at around 7 am today, police informed.

Police Inspector Yogendra Hamal informed that the victims have been sent to Bharatpur for treatment, the Rastriya Samachar Samiti reported.

Just on Friday, 22 persons were killed as a passenger bus had fallen into the river. Four of the passengers are still missing.
