2 killed, 1 injured in separate road accidents in Dhading

DHADING: A person died on the spot after a motorcycle he was riding on collided with a truck in Gajuri Rural Municipality-1 of Dhading district on Saturday morning.

The truck (Na 6 Kha 9076) heading toward Kathmandu from Muglin collided head-on with the motorcycle (Ba 85 Pa 6272), killing the motorcyclist near Kalika Temple, at 6:00 am today, according to police.

The Gajuri-based Area Police Office (APO) identified the deceased as Karna Bahadur Gurung (37) of Chandibhanjyang Area in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality in Chitwan district.

Likewise, in a separate incident, a person died and another sustained critical injuries after a motorcycle they were riding on collided with a truck.

The deceased has been identified as pillion rider Uma Rawat of Khasi Bazaar in KMC-14 and the injured as her husband, motorcyclist Bal Bikas Rawal.

The truck (Lu 1 Kha 9617) heading toward Kathmandu from Chitwan collided head-on with the motorcycle (Ba 80 Pa 9959), injuring the two-wheeler riders at Bandaremod of Beniighat Rorang Rural Municipality-5, at 7:00 am today, police informed.

Critically injured Rawat breathed her last on the way to a health institution in Kathmandu while the motorcyclist has been referred to a hospital in Kathmandu after receiving first aid treatment at the Highway Community Hospital, according to the District Police Office, Dhading.

Meanwhile, the APO has impounded the trucks involved in the road accidents and detained the drivers for necessary investigation.
