KATHMANDU: Two women were arrested in possession of 40 kilogram hashish from Tansen, the district headquarters of Palpa, on Wednesday.

Police said 39-year-old Maan Kumari Chalawale of Kohalpur Municipality-13 in Banke district and 34-year-old Rasipura Rokya Magar of Rolpa district were detained after police had intercepted a passenger bus and carried out a routine security check.

Police recovered 17 kg and 23 kg of hashish hidden in bags carried by Maan Kumari and Rasipura Rokya respectively.

Meanwhile, Palpa District Police Office said further investigation is underway.
