Two held with Rs 3.1m worth illegal currency

POKHARA: Police arrested two persons including an Indian national in possession of illegal currency in Pokhara on Friday.

The arrestees involved in illicit money trade have been identified as Binayak Kumar Babulal Shah (48) of Mumbai, India and Chanda Thapa (29) of Kathmandu.

Police recovered Rs 3.1 million worth of currency in US Dollars, Indian Rupees, Pound, and Euro from Shah and Thapa.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rabindra Man Gurung, both the arrestees have been taken to Department of Revenue Investigation in Kathmandu for further investigation and action.
