Two killed, 17 injured in Dadeldhura jeep accident

DADELDHURA: Two people were killed while 17 others were injured when a jeep headed from Bhageshwar Rural Municipality to Baghkhor in Amargadhi Municipality crashed at around noon today.

Four of the injured are in a critical condition.

The deceased have been identified as Deependra Shahi (45), owner of the jeep, from Bhageshwar Rural Municipality-3 and Dharma Singh Madai from the same ward, according to the District Police Office.

The overloaded vehicle skidded off the road and fell some 150 metres below the road at Dhimla in Bagarkot.

The jeep (Ma 1 Ja 180) operated by Ugratara Bus Entrepreneurs Committee was carrying passengers above its capacity.

Injured are being treated at the Sub-Regional Hospital in Dadeldhura, police said.
